"I wasn’t sure about this book and, to tell the truth, the jury is still out. As a collection of stories that fill spaces within her books, it is a good idea and the characters get to develop further for the reader. The insights into Jamsid, Dara, Subha (apologies for butchering those names) make them and their true natures more real. Shannon’s writing has always been good, and these snippets are an enjoyable way to keep the Daevae storyline going. But what left me a bit empty was that the stories didn’t develop leaving me wanting to know more. It has been awhile since I’ve read the series and, yes, I could go read them again, but each story here could easily be developed further to keep this world alive. As a reader you will enjoy the return, and I did like the Dara story the best, but you will leave wanting more ["
