"I really enjoyed this short and easy read by Scarlett St. Clair. I've read two books by her previously and already love her beautiful writing style, so I was excited to start this one, too. And it did not disappoint!😍 It was a Beauty and the Beast retelling with some other fairytale aspects thrown in the mix, too! Gesela lives alone outside an Enchanted Forest after losing her family. The village she lives in has been cursed by many curses over the years and now the newest curse has caused the well to dry up and a witch told them a toad that lives on the bottom of the well has to be killed to break the curse. The villagers decide it was Gesela's turn to be the one to be sacrificed to break the curse. It turns out the toad was actually a cursed Elven Prince, and Gisela finds herself captured by his brothers for retribution. They decide she must become the captive of their 7th brother, a beast, for 6 years. The 7th brother offers a deal. She can be free. All she has to do is guess and say his name within 7 days to free him of his own curse. Although what she doesn't know in the beginning is that his name must be spoken with love. So she also has to fall in love with him in that time too. I really liked Gesela's character. She isn't a damsel in distress and is willing to fight for her life and freedom. Casamir started off as a character you would hate but learn to love. Does help that he's hot and sexy!😉 I really liked the Mirror and the Wolf, too. I also had so much fun figuring out the riddle of his name with Gesela as well! This book had enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, prisoner/captive (Stockholm Syndrome-esque) trope. There were darker themes throughout and plenty of smut, which I really enjoyed. Given that it is a short novella, it was fast-paced, and the world building wasn't as extensive, and there were a couple of unexplained parts, but I personally don't think it took away from the story. I also feel it may be answered in upcoming books in the series, which I look forward to! ["

"I absolutely had such a great time reading this book. Had some good laughing moments and a bit cringy moments but bearable I would say, they just make you laugh. Honestly, I did find Gesela a bit annoying at first but later you get use to her and learn all that she went through and understand why she is the way she is. Casamir, the Elven prince, is really cool. The way he would transform himself to his beast form and the way his eyes get. *cough* pitch black, what?! Yup totally dig that. The moments with him and Gesela are wow ... hot I will admit. I will say this, my favorite moments would be with Casamir, Naeve, and The mirror. I just loved them. They had me cracking up throughout the book. Poor Casamir lol This is a retelling of what seemed to me a bit of Beauty and the Beast. Does has its differences but I liked it. If you love fantasy retellings and want to have a funtime, I would recommend this book. Easy to read, fast paced that was done very well storywise for a short book, and writing that makes you imagine the world and characters in your head so much better. Scarlett St Clair once again does not disappoints. ["

"It took me a while to actually finish this book. I prefer more storyline than smut, the story is your usual enemies to lovers trope. If smut is your thing though then this book is perfect for you. The storyline could’ve been better in my opinion, I felt like it could’ve gotten more deeper. It wasn’t bad but it felt more centered on sex in my opinion; in all I still enjoyed it, it was a cute lil read. ["

"4.5⭐️ 3🌶️ Scarlett does it again! I don’t think there’s a single thing she could write that I wouldn’t love but I REALLY enjoyed this fairytale retelling. It was so uniquely crafted and I adored how she incorporated so many different fairy tales into one cohesive story–I lost count of all the lore I recognized and I’m sure there are even some I missed along the way. I really enjoyed Gesela and Casamir. Their enemies to lovers vibes combined with their undeniable draw to one another was utter perfection. Gesela was so intelligent, headstrong, witty, and resourceful while Casamir was broody and unskilled in the art of courting a woman, yet so clever and soft inside. Watching the two clash before finally coming together and all of the angst that built up while they tried to decide if the other felt the same way was everything. The quest and adventure aspects of this book were so exciting and I really enjoyed the riddles, deals, traps, and trickery surrounding Gesela’s journey to find Casamir’s true name. All of the unique side characters that helped (and hindered) her along the way were fun to read about and I had a blast trying my own luck at discovering his name before Gesela did. This was such a beautifully told novella and I really enjoyed all of the artwork incorporated into Scarlett’s detailed descriptions, making me feel fully immersed in the story. I’m thrilled that this is just our first look into the Fairyland world and I can’t wait for the rest of the novellas to release so I can devour them just as quickly as this one. ["
