About this book

Following the mysterious death of her mother, Genevieve Grimm receives a cryptic invitation to Enchantra, a cursed palace woven from illusions and lethal secrets. Seeking answers that have been kept from her for years, she forces her way into the gilded labyrinth despite the warnings of Rowin Silver, a dangerously arrogant man who guards the gates. Once inside, Genevieve discovers that the palace is a trap where the inhabitants are forced to compete in a deadly game for their very lives.

To survive the treacherous trials, Genevieve and Rowin strike a volatile bargain: they will compete as a pair, but only if they can convince their enemies—and the unseen audience watching their every move—that they are hopelessly in love. As they navigate a world of marble and thorns, the line between performance and reality begins to blur. Genevieve knows that trusting Rowin is a death sentence, yet the burning tension between them proves impossible to ignore.

In a place where hearts are used as currency and betrayal is the only certainty, Genevieve must outwit the palace’s dark games before her growing desire for her partner becomes the one mistake she cannot survive.

A Dark Fairytale Drenched in Shadows, Secrets, and Longing

"This book had me hooked from the first haunting page. Enchantra is the kind of story that wraps its fingers around your throat and dares you to look away—equal parts danger, desire, and dark enchantment. Kaylie Smith has created a world where magic isn’t just a gift, it’s a curse, a test, a trap—and surviving it takes more than power. Genevieve Grimm—Vivi—is a standout heroine. She's not your typical morally gray girl with a blade and a bad attitude (though she could absolutely rock both). Vivi is grieving, angry, and in over her head—but she never stops thinking, never stops trying to claw her way forward. Her magic is messy, her heart even messier, and that’s exactly what makes her feel so alive on the page. And then there’s Rowin, our shadow-wrapped, scowl-wearing, half-dead prince of angst. He is everything I love in a reluctant protector—cursed, clever, and emotionally constipated. The chemistry between him and Vivi? Absolutely electric. The fake marriage trope? Executed perfectly. I found myself craving their banter, holding my breath in their quiet moments, and cheering every time they gave into the pull between them. The world of Enchantra is lush and eerie, like a gothic dream you’re not sure you’ll wake up from. The magic system is creative without being over-explained, and the trials Vivi faces are genuinely tense. Smith knows how to build suspense without sacrificing heart, and she paces the reveals like a seasoned storyteller. The emotional payoffs hit hard. If you love: Dark academia meets cursed estate vibes Witches, wraiths, and shadow magic Romance that burns slow but bright Heroines who don’t wait to be saved And a final twist that punches you in the soul… Then Enchantra is your next obsession. Final thoughts: 5 stars because I didn’t just read this book—I felt it. The grief, the longing, the fire under every choice. It’s fierce, immersive, and left me both satisfied and desperate for book two. ["

Pure, Unadulterated Magic Filled With Mystical Games And Powerful Emotions

"Kaylie Smith has shattered all of my assumptions and beliefs with Enchantra. I did not expect this book to live up to the hype I built around this book release in my mind because Phantasma was my number one favorite read last year. While my hopes were high, my expectations were low that this story would be anywhere as good as Phantasma. Kaylie Smith took those assumptions and expectations and completely annihilated them. This is a 10 star read for me for a number of reasons! I thought I had an amazing connection to Ophelia, Blackwell, and Genevieve in Phantasma, but that connection was truly deepened with Genevieve and Rowin’s story. Vivi is reckless, lost, and looking for her place in the world. She is usually her own worst enemy, but she faces everything with dogged determination and bravery. I see so much of myself in her. Rowin is determined to release his family from the devil’s curse and save his mom, and Vivi has no place in those plans. But don’t forget, the games must go on, despite what anyone says or does. There was so much charm, magic, and mystery within this book that I could not help but gobble this up! The banter… Chef’s kiss! The way these two tried to keep each other at arms length and keep their hearts protected before finally caving and giving in was magnificent. I really didn’t think I could, or would, love this book as much as I did Phantasma, but I did… Do! The games are just as deadly, but the plan to eradicate the villain is a surprising turn of events. I have many thoughts and feelings still rolling around in my head about this story, but I absolutely loved the ending and the answers it provided, even if I am now completely devastated because I now want more! Kaylie has completely captivated me with this series, and I don’t think I will ever get enough. The way she evokes such a visceral reaction and feeling from me while I am reading her books, I am truly exhausted, but oh so elated and fulfilled. I read this book so quickly, literally just a few hours, and just completely fell under its spell, and now I’m fighting the urge to just go back and read it again. Kaylie, I don’t want to rush you, but I NEED you to write another book within this series quickly! No pressure though! ❤️ ["

Enchanted with Enchantra 💜🖤

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 to 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ After loving Phantasma, I was really looking forward to diving into Enchantra, and it completely delivered. Kaylie Smith has created such a rich, darkly magical world, and this book takes us even deeper into it—this time through the eyes of Genevieve. The story follows Genevieve as she finds herself caught in the world of the enigmatic and brooding Rowington Silver. His entire family, the Silvers, is as mysterious as they are powerful. There’s a haunting elegance to them, and they’re wrapped up in a supernatural legacy that’s more burden than blessing. One of my favorite touches was Rowington’s familiar, Umbra—a quiet but incredibly endearing shadow fox. She doesn’t speak, but her presence says plenty. She added an unexpected softness to the story that I really appreciated. Now let’s talk about Devil Knox. Whew. He’s slick, cunning, and wildly entertaining in the most infuriating way. He’s also responsible for the twisted little game the Silver family is forced to play to keep him amused—and while I won’t give too much away, let’s just say it’s dark, high-stakes, and full of eerie tension. Watching the characters navigate it had me glued to the page. The romance between Genevieve and Rowington is deliciously slow burn. There’s a real emotional depth to their connection, layered with magic, trust issues, and a whole lot of tension. The spice in this book is just right—nothing over the top, but definitely intense when it hits. I’d say it falls around 3.5 to 4 chili peppers, depending on your scale. All in all, Enchantra is a beautifully written fantasy romance with a balance of eerie charm, dark whimsy, and genuine heart. It expands the world of Phantasma without needing to rely too heavily on it, and it left me more than ready for whatever comes next in the Wicked Games series. Highly recommend if you love stories with gothic magic, complex characters, and a romance that simmers before it scorches. ["

Enchanting

"Enchantra by Kaylie Smith will fuel your desire for a dark romantasy. One which features complex relationships intriguing and complicated puzzles coupled with the enemies to lover's trope. Prepare for a hazardous journey into the supernatural world where survival is the ultimate goal. Enchantra is the second book on Kaylie Smith's Wicked Games series. Wow! What a sequel? After my experience with Phantasma I had high hopes for Enchantra, and she did not disappoint. Enchantra follows Genevieve Grimm the younger sister of the heroine from Phantasma. In this installment Genevieve intercepts an invitation meant for mother. Unfortunately, her mother died and so she decides to take up the invitation. This decision led her to Tuscany, Italy. On her arrival she got caught up in a deadly game of hide and seek in an enchanted mansion. A game which led to a marriage of convenience and one where survival is not guaranteed. I had lots of fun with this one. The characters despite their dysfunctionalities made the story a treat. The heroine and the hero made a perfect match. It took me sometime to warm up to Genevieve, but when I finally did, I enjoyed her role. Feisty, argumentative and brave, poor Rowin didn't know what hit him. Their romance was intense. They both had baggage. Geneive needed to stay alive at all costs and Rowin had ensure her safety. These issues served as a barrier to their attraction, but not for long. Rowin's siblings added a little more zing the situation. Getting to know the family will leave you with the desire to be a part of them, dysfunctionalities and all. Enchantra is a solid addition to the Wicked Games series, and I look forward to the next book. ["
