About this book

In a kingdom cursed by a vengeful fairy, the awakening of Princess Beauty does not lead to a traditional happily ever after. Instead, the prince who breaks the spell demands a devastating price, transforming the royal court into a theater of absolute submission and rigorous discipline. Beauty is stripped of her status, bound by inescapable enchantments, and thrust into a world where her obedience is the only currency that matters.

As the trilogy unfolds, the narrative follows Beauty through her transformation from a sheltered royal into a figure defined by her profound devotion and complex psychological endurance. Alongside her, other noble captives face a similar fate, navigating a landscape where the boundary between pain and pleasure is blurred by dark, intoxicating magic. The series explores the power dynamics between the masters of the court and those who serve them, delving into the nature of desire and the surrender of the self.

With prose that is as atmospheric as it is provocative, the story challenges perceptions of agency and tradition. It is a descent into a lush, unsettling fairy-tale realm where the stakes are visceral, the consequences are eternal, and the pursuit of pleasure is governed by rigid, unforgiving laws.

A Bold and Sensual Exploration of Fantasy and Desire

"The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy by Anne Rice (written under the pseudonym A.N. Roquelaure) is a daring and provocative reimagining of the classic fairy tale, offering an adult twist on the familiar story of Sleeping Beauty. This trilogy is not for the faint of heart, as it delves into themes of power, submission, and sensuality with unflinching honesty. The trilogy begins with The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, where Rice takes the reader through a fantastical world where pleasure and pain are intricately tied. The characters are deeply complex, and their journeys are as much about self-discovery as they are about indulgence and submission. Throughout the trilogy, Rice explores themes of dominance and submission, set against a backdrop of richly imaginative, often erotic, storytelling. Rice’s writing is lush, detailed, and immersive. The world she creates is both beautiful and disturbing, with vivid imagery and intricate character development. Each book takes the reader deeper into the world of fantasy and desire, and while the subject matter is undeniably explicit, Rice manages to balance the darker themes with a sense of beauty and lyricism. One of the most striking things about The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy is how it challenges traditional notions of romance and explores the boundaries of human sexuality. While the explicit content is not for everyone, those who are drawn to stories that push the limits of fantasy and explore complex relationships will find this trilogy to be an unforgettable read. Ultimately, this is a story of transformation, liberation, and surrender to a world that is both intoxicating and dangerous. If you are open to a tale that pushes boundaries and offers a sensual, sometimes controversial, examination of desire, The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy is an unforgettable read. ["

Awesome read!

"Where I will agree that these books may not be for everyone... I find them an alluring and fun to read. Yes, there's a lot of sex... but there's so much more to the story. Some people have referred to these books with the description "sexual torture"... Where I believe everyone has a right to their own opinion - If you don't understand BDSM lifestyle or tend to live a more reserved lifestyle, then you wouldn't understand the pleasure that comes along with it. Anne Rice tries to explain the feelings of the submissive in these books. Don't get me wrong, I don't partake in a BDSM lifestyle and never have... but, I find nothing wrong if a person finds enjoyment in it. The books are an excellent read... I read them when I was 18, found them enticing then. I find I'm enjoying them now just as much as I did 15 years ago. Yes, the characters in the books are what we would consider underage today... These books do not take place in today, they take place in a time where children had arranged marriages at 13! Lastly, they aren't meant to be realistic... its an EROTIC FAIRYTALE. ["

Good but left me wanting more...

"I enjoyed this book and love Anne Rice. With this book series I have to say that I wish there was a bit more "heat" to the BDSM in the story. I found the public humiliation scenes rather cold and lacking. I know some would say BDSM consists of a lot of "cold" scenes, but I find that to be inaccurate. A "dark" and deep psychological form of passion would be better suited. But that's just me. I prefer the subs in my novels to be haunted with terrible yearning and experience deep, gut wrenching addiction towards the one inflicting exquisite pain. It would have been great if Beauty's lesson in public humiliation carried heavier and deeper meaning. Nonetheless, it is well written and still a good read with an interesting twist to the classic childhood story of Sleeping Beauty. My one real complaint, which is the reason for my 4 instead of 5 star rating, is that I've come across misspelled/incorrect words. So the editing in the book isn't perfect, but it doesn't take away from enjoying the story too much in my opinion. ["
