About this book

Evryn Rowanwood and Mariselle Brightcrest are sworn rivals whose families have been locked in a bitter feud for generations. Their mutual disdain reaches a breaking point when they accidentally bind themselves to an ancient, enchanted contract. Tasked with the impossible mission of restoring Dreamland—a legendary, failed magical attraction that once brought ruin to their ancestors—the pair must navigate the high-stakes social landscape of the Regency season.

To protect their reputations and keep their forced alliance a secret, Evryn and Mariselle stage a fake engagement. What follows is a whirlwind of magical sabotage, increasingly ridiculous pranks, and sharp-tongued banter that masks a deepening, inconvenient attraction. As they work to unravel the mysteries of Dreamland, the line between their performative affection and genuine feeling begins to blur.

With every magical mishap and hushed confrontation, the tension between them shifts from hostile warfare to a dangerously simmering slow-burn. In a world where every spell carries a cost and every social gesture is scrutinized, Evryn and Mariselle must decide if their fragile partnership will lead to the restoration of a magical legacy or the total undoing of their hearts.

The perfect enemies to lovers in a regency era setting filled with unique magic

"Deals & Dream Spells Review In this second book of The Charmed Leaf Legacy series, I really wondered how Rachel Morgan could top Tempests & Tea Leaves and went in sceptical. In the first book, when we encounter Mariselle - the main female character in this book, she's - let's call it less than pleasant. Then in Deals & Dream Spells in swoops a magical contract with her sworn enemy, Evryn, and we have the perfect setting for anything to happen. There is banter, there is snort-your-tea-through-your-nose nicknames and some very questionable poetry. This is a heart-capturing story about hate, love, acceptance and forgiveness all set within one of the most beautiful magic systems I've ever encountered. The Charmed Leaf Legacy series is fast becoming one of my top series ever read! ["

Cute Cozy Romantasy

"Deals and Dream Spells is the second novel in The Charmed Leaf Legacy series and focuses on another couple. This time, the starring role is given to Lady Mariselle Brightcrest and Lord Evryn Rowanwood who are from two rival families owing to a dispute from prior generations. Despite coming from enemy families, the two have a light camaraderie owing to their mutual interest. It is during one of the meetings that they encounter a place both families were once involved with: Dreamland. What happens next is a whirlwind of an adventure. The wordplay and banter had me struggling to keep a straight face without randomly cackling with glee. I love the way Morgan has a way with words and how she cleverly uses them to drive the interaction(s) between the characters. There was a level of depth that had me squirming a bit uncomfortably at times because of how introspective (and very relatable) Mariselle and Evryn’s relationship with their family got. Nonetheless, their relationship is playful and though antagonistic at times, there is a level of understanding that the two of them share. I know it took me some time to sit down and write this review but the feels that came with this novel is so well worth it. Thank you so much to Rachel Morgan for the gifted ARC. All opinions are my own. ["

Flawless Feuds and Found Love!

"“You have proven to be entirely unlike what I had always presumed to know about you.” AHHH! I absolutely devoured book one in this series, so I honestly didn’t think book two could top it. I was so wrong. The feuding, the banter, the engagement of convenience, the dreamsharing… flawless. (Note, that you do not need to read book 1 to enjoy book 2). Mariselle…she’s vibrant, determined, optimistic, and headstrong. She’s trying to hold together a world that keeps tearing her down. What’s a girl to do? She’s convinced that if she can just prove her strength, prove what’s possible, she’ll finally earn the love she’s been denied. I wanted to reach into the pages and give her a hug. Her family? I was SCREAMING. They were the worst. One of my favorite lines was about her – “She hadn’t built walls to keep others out, but to keep herself intact within the very place that should have nurtured her.” Evryn…he’s sensitive, clever, and exactly what Mariselle needs. But first he has to get past the decades-old feud and all his assumptions about her. Once he starts to truly see her… GAH. They’re on parallel paths of self-discovery, and it’s so satisfying to watch it unfold. If you’re craving an enemies to lovers romance, look no further. Pick this one up IMMEDIATELY. It had me hooked from the first interaction: “It seems I’ve bested you again, Rowanwood…” ["

Regency meets cozy fantasy in this brilliant fake-dating story

"I loved this book. From start to finish, it was a magical, romantic ride that had me smiling, swooning, and actually shedding some tears. At the heart of the story is a brilliant fake-dating, or more accurately a fake soulbond trope that is executed so well. There’s tension, chemistry, and I love the over the top poetry take on the banter. Like Tempests and Tea Leaves this book also has surprising(?) emotional depth. It’s not just about magical mishaps and swoony moments. It’s about finding the courage to stand up for yourself and choose your own path, even when it means going against what your family or friends expect of you. The story flows effortlessly, the banter is hilariously over-the-top in the best way, and can we talk about the one pegasus trope? Because it absolutely rivals the iconic “only one bed.” ["
