A Court of Thorns and Roses
Sarah J. Maas
by Jen L. Grey
Having survived the brutal fae bridal competition, the protagonist finds that her victory is merely the beginning of a deadlier game. As the chosen consort to Vad, the dangerously possessive Prince of Shadows, she is thrust into a court teeming with lethal rivals and ancient conspiracies. Her world shatters when she awakens covered in the King’s blood, holding the murder weapon, and facing an immediate execution.
Framed for regicide and cast into the kingdom’s deepest dungeons, she must navigate a landscape where loyalty is a liability and her own sanity begins to fracture. Vad refuses to relinquish his claim, placing him in direct opposition to the kingdom’s ironclad laws. To save her, he must dismantle the very power structure he serves, risking everything for a woman trapped in a web of shifting shadows.
As they race to uncover the truth, they are forced to confront an agonizing reality: in a realm built on blood, survival requires impossible choices. Caught between political machinations and an all-consuming bond, the pair must decide if their love is a salvation or a death sentence. In this high-stakes dance of dark fantasy, trust is the rarest currency, and betrayal is always lurking in the dark.

RBartgisToo many errors.
"I'm not sure if this book was truly ever edited. There are so many errors, grammar, continuity, and even mixing up Ember's name with Briar's. The plot has merit. However, there is too much exposition about things that have no bearing on the story, ie the clothes of the contestants. This book is a chore to read. I was pulled out of the story over and over due to the long descriptions and many errors. With proper editing this book would become a delightful read. ["
