About this book

For generations, the Mayfair family has reigned over New Orleans, their immense wealth and influence inextricably tied to a dark, supernatural legacy. At the center of this dynasty is a line of powerful women, each haunted by an invisible, seductive entity known as Lasher. When Dr.

Rowan Mayfair, a brilliant neurosurgeon unaware of her true heritage, inherits the family’s sprawling Garden District mansion, she unwittingly unravels a centuries-old pact. Rowan’s arrival triggers a series of events that draw her into a dangerous dance with the entity that has shaped her ancestors' lives. As she grapples with the terrifying extent of her own burgeoning powers, she finds herself caught between the allure of her birthright and the brutal reality of the spirit that demands her submission.

The conflict intensifies as the Mayfairs confront the existence of the Taltos—a mysterious, ancient race that threatens to expose the secrets hidden within the family’s bloodline. Blending gothic atmosphere with a high-stakes struggle for autonomy, this epic saga explores the heavy cost of inherited magic and the intoxicating, often destructive nature of a bond that defies the boundaries of life and death.

Two Reviews In One

"I really should have known as Kindle has done this to my several times before. I've read many of Anne Rices novels in the past and really enjoy her writing and twists on well used characters. I'm more than half way through this series and while much of it entails soft porn and incest the span of the story is huge and interesting. Do yourself a favor and get the individual books instead of this collection. It's the Kindle file itself is what I have an issue with. The percentage seems to be tracking correctly but the page numbering is not working correctly. The seem to have added nearly a 100 pages to the first book with their reorganizing and at the end of the first book on page 1039 the page numbers lock up on page 1039 for the rest of the collection which should be another 1100 plus pages. I like to know where I'm at in a book and it helps with the flow of a book. Hope this helps ["

This bundle contains three books in one

"This bundle contains three books in one: The Witching Hour, Lasher, and Taltos. The Witching Hour is dense and detailed, but incredibly immersive, a 5-star read. LOVED! Lasher continues the story well and was a strong 4.5-star experience for me, with continued world-building. Taltos provides important story information but felt longer and more drawn out than necessary, landing closer to 3 stars. Overall, this is a rich, gothic series best suited for readers who enjoy slow, detailed storytelling and don’t mind taking their time. ["

The Witching Hour (the 1st book) Minding blowing good!

"Wow! this was my first anne rice experience and I was not disappointed! Anne takes us through many generations (13) of woman witche and their families (the Mayfair's), some how drawing in the reader as she goes. It's a fascinating epic story line (500 hundred years) that is so well detailed that one feels they are a part of her journey through time. It's a long book, over 1,000 pages, but the prose it so interesting I could not put it down. I found myself putting off tasks just so I could read this book. The story eventually takes us to New Orleans at the end of 1800 where Anne Rice is from, depicting actual places and events that still exist today. The book has so many twist and turns through the Mayfair history and Anne does creepy so well. Also the sex, when it's not incestuous, is excellent and done with taste. This book is now on my top ten list! There are just a few parts that slow down but muscle through them because it's so worth it in the end! ["
