"Here’s my quick, spoiler-free take on a really spicy duet by M. L. Burns. The first book is All Your Bloody Lies, and the second one, All Your Deadly Truths, just dropped this September. Seriously, this duet is definitely in my top 10 reads of 2025, maybe even top 5! It totally caught me off guard. I picked up All Your Bloody Lies on a whim and let me tell you, I couldn’t put it down. This series is a dark paranormal fantasy romance, and I mean dark—so make sure to check out those trigger warnings! It’s super spicy too. The story is all about Xera who’s a succubus (yep, a type of demon). She’s basically on a revenge mission against some guys who tortured her and buried her alive. Then there’s Kairhyse who’s a vampire and part of the authorities. He’s been sent to find Xera because of all the chaos she’s causing. Naturally, he gets obsessed with her pretty quickly. But Xera? Yeah, she wants nothing to do with him because she’s got some business to take care of. Book 1 ends on a cliffhanger, and thankfully, book 2 is out now! It answers all your burning questions from book 1 pretty early on. But trust me, it comes at a really high cost for our characters. So, brace yourself for book 2—it’s heart-wrenching and beautiful at the same time. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this duet! And that little blurb I just tossed out there? Just the tip of the iceberg! There are loads of spicy scenes, but I have to say my favorite is in book 2, involving a shadow clone. You’ll totally know it when you get there. ["

"I get that it’s a spicy novel, but the sex got boring in my opinion. And the repetitive “you’re my everything” and “she is mine, all mine” and the constant reminders of it, eye roll. The plot was good enough to stand on its own and then have a few powerful intimate scenes in it with mention of other sexual moments for her to feed would have been better in my opinion. Make the yearning for them prolonged, instead I ended up skipping several scenes because it became more of “oh here we go again”. Guess I should stick to a lower spice rating, but someone compared this to Feathers so Vicious as spicy with a plot, but this duet is not close in my opinion. Good enough plot to keep you interested, but too spicy without the flavor I guess lol. ["
