Absolute Demon (Hollows Book 19)
Kim Harrison
by Kaylee Archer
Cordelia Levine believes her life is defined by the quiet rhythm of her London apothecary, where she hides her identity as a witch from the mundane world. That fragile stability shatters when she is abducted by Bishop Danvers, a brooding, formidable werewolf acting under the command of her estranged father, the Alpha of the powerful Albion Pack. Whisked away to the isolation of the Trevelyan estate, Cordelia discovers the truth of her ancestry: she is a rare hybrid, born of both witch and werewolf blood.
This unique lineage makes her a target for rival packs and internal dissenters alike, thrusting her into a dangerous political landscape where she is a pawn in a game she barely understands. As Cordelia navigates the volatile hierarchy of the Albion pack, her initial hostility toward her captor gives way to a complex, simmering tension. Bishop is tasked with guarding her, but as the threats against her life escalate, the lines between protector and captor blur.
Caught between ancient magic and the raw instinct of the wolf, Cordelia must master her burgeoning powers and decide if the man who tore her world apart is the only one capable of keeping her alive.
AprilDelightful and fun 🐺
"🐺 Thank you, St. Martin's Press for the ARC of this ebook 🐺 If Jane Austen had written a paranormal romance, I think this might have been it. A witty, delightfully stubborn witch who isn't ready to be tamed by any man, and a broody, charming werewolf who wins her over anyway. Cordelia and Bishop are delightful together, whether they're arguing, teasing one another, or letting their true selves out from beneath their carefully-laid masks. The plot kept me guessing, and waiting for the next shoe to drop. And I was actually *wrong* about some of what I expected to happen, which I love. I want to be fooled—to feel a sense of shock alongside the characters. I'm ever-so grateful I've got the next book queued up! 👀 ["

"Cordelia hides in the human world rather than joining a cover. She comes from a long line of powerful witches, but has taken a false last name for security. But now her werewolf father wants to claim her, and he's sending his pack after her. Her father claims it's to protect her, but really he wants to use her to solidify his own power by marrying her to his right-hand man Bishop. Can Cordelia trust the man who kidnapped her? Read if you like: -Werewolf Romance -Secrets -Pack Politics and Intrigue -Enemies to Lovers -Arranged Marriage Don't let the comparison to A Court of Thorns and Roses and From Blood and Ash fool you or put you off. Witch of the Wolves is way more enjoyable than either of them. I liked Cordelia more than both Feyre and Poppy. And I liked Bishop more than Rhys and Cas, but about the same as Hawk (PS I'm still salty about that). Bishop was a delicious werewolf MMC. Strong, brooding, and just a little bit possessive. The were-trifecta. And the arranged marriage trope was *chef's kiss* I can't wait for book two! ["

Hannahnot for me
"This should be exactly what I like but it just wasn’t. Witches and wolves and a dash of spice? But the characters felt one dimensional, the wolves were just misogynist creeps and the spice was cringe. Beautiful sprayed edges though. ["

El SeeI really liked the dynamics of the main characters.
"Yes, you had the wondering of what was true or false and figuring out who was zooming who but the communication between the leads was clean and crisp. You had two, strong, smart people working together for a common goal. There was very little doubt about each other’s motives which made for a clever, exciting story. I’m not a fan of overbearing angst. ["
