"A fantastic start to a good book series. The unique take on dragons and their ancestors is an idea that I have not read or heard before. I am a fan of the Empyrean by Rebecca Yarros and the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini along with many other series that revolve around dragons. Ella Walker Henderson shows her passion for her story and characters with her writing. Is the writing perfect? No but very few books have perfect writing. It is also about the reader's taste. Though, with Henderson's passion for her story, you are immediately hooked. I read the books that are already out within 3 days. Zaydah, Aris, and Valentius are characters that will always be in my heart. If I were able to get my dream tattoo of a sleeve of all the dragons I hold dear, Valentius would be on it. I highly recommend as the first 3 books are out, and the last two are coming out later this year. ["

"This was a great start to a new series. The author developed an interesting world and spent time truly developing the characters. She has several plot twists that keep you guessing as to where she might go next. I will keep reading to see what’s going to happen with all the dangling strings. As for romance, that was on the slim side. However, I didn’t mind that because there is somewhere - we just don’t know where. ["
