Fury Bound (The Wolves of Ruin Book 2)
Sable Sorensen
by Nikki St. Crowe
Dorothy Gale has always felt like an outsider in Kansas, but she never expected a cyclone to deposit her in the cursed, decaying landscape of Oz. Armed only with a warning to avoid the realm’s lethal inhabitants, she sets out to find the Wizard and a way home. Her journey takes a dangerous turn when she rescues a man left for dead in a cornfield.
Rook is enigmatic, undeniably magnetic, and possesses a disquieting familiarity that draws Dorothy in despite the red flags he carries. As they navigate a treacherous path filled with monstrous threats, Dorothy discovers that her new companion is far more than a simple victim. His hidden agendas and the lethal presence of the infamous Tinman force her to question everything she encounters.
In this version of Oz, innocence is a liability, and the line between ally and enemy blurs with every step. As Dorothy uncovers fragments of a past she cannot remember, she realizes that the land’s dark magic is inextricably linked to her own identity. Trapped in a web of deceit and burgeoning desire, she must decide if the man who protects her is her greatest hope for salvation or the architect of her ultimate ruin.

"The reason I love Nikki St. Crowe’s books are that they are fast pace and have stakes. This delivered on both of those things. In a completely new story from her previous Peter Pan world. This Wizard of Oz retelling has all the pieces of the original story while being new! Loved. 🎧 this narration is a dual narration with a full cast. The line up of narrators is impressive, but I hate being mislead like that. The narrators did a good job, but I just really don’t like dual narrations. ["

Bryan & Lanae KirbyConstantly kept me guessing! AMAZING reimagining!
"Honestly, this book shocked the heck out of me. I had high hopes, and it had a little rocky of a start. I did find the shorter chapters and multiple POVs to be confusing, BUT, the plot had me absolutely devouring the story and discussing theories with a friend and the ending had me BLOWN. First, I enjoyed the characters. They were intriguing and multidimensional. Like I didn't automatically like or hate them. And I was suspicious of EVERYONE. Which is one of my favorite things when reading. I was questioning everything and whether characters actions were good, or bad. I really liked the changes to the story. We've all watched the original movie and a lot of us have read or seen Wicked. So I had all those plots in my mind, but then was like, ok so what is gonna be different. And I was very surprised. Some of my theories were right, a lot were wrong, and the ending? THAT ENDING? Wild. I now have approximately 848493 more questions and my theories are multiple. When does book two come out? I need it asap. *note for people who loved her never after series? Just be warned this is no where NEAR the spice level. I was kinda surprised, so def know that going in! ["

"*I received the ALC of West of Wicked from Netgalley and Macmillan Audio.* Rating: Five mind-blowing 5 stars. Nikki takes the Wizard of Oz and gives it a perfectly delicious dark romance twist! Not is all as it seems on the yellow brick road... Will Dorothy find her way back to Kansas or stay in Oz forever? From the twists and turns to the depth of the characters and worldbuilding, West of Wicked will keep you completely enchanted, mesmerized, and unaware of the mystery lurking in the shadows. So far, I love the Tinman! Have you seen the character art? IT'S GORGEOUS! You know I love these broody, grumpy, kind of men, and there is definitely more than meets the eye with this one. It's no surprise that this book is a shiny, solid 5 stars because Nikki always comes in clutch with those cliffhangers (more like cliffHANGOVER) that will blow you away and drop a house on you for good measure. I will never stop screaming at people to read her books because they truly slap you on the a** and tell you that you're a good girl after. ♡ ["
