The Book of Azrael: Gods and Monsters, Book 1
Amber V. Nicole
by Amber V. Nicole
The fragile peace holding the realms together shatters as the rightful heir, Samkiel, grapples with a volatile, encroaching darkness beneath his skin. With the Ring of Oblivion missing, his raw power threatens to consume him, turning him into the very monster he fears. Beside him, Dianna endures haunting, prophetic dreams of retribution, her connection to ancient, primal forces deepening as the threat of total annihilation looms.
As war drums beat across the realms, the hunt for stolen power intensifies, forcing gods and monsters into a desperate, blood-soaked alliance. To save the woman he loves and prevent the collapse of existence, Samkiel must embark on a perilous journey into the Otherworld—a realm he has long avoided and one that demands a devastating price for entry. Amidst the chaos, the lines between hero and villain blur.
As Nismera’s armada grows and eternal entities awaken, Samkiel and Dianna face an impossible ultimatum: sacrifice their own desires to preserve the realms, or succumb to the shadows that seek to claim them. In this high-stakes collision of divinity and horror, every choice carries the weight of total destruction, leaving them to wonder if their bond can survive the coming oblivion.
NataliaGood but dragas on a bit
"The story is good but it drags a bit too much. Characters seems to make the same mistake over and over and over. The fantasy world is ok. ["

Megan (lostbetween_the_pages)I am stunned and emotionally wrecked
"Wow. Infinity stars. I knew going into this that this book was going to ruin me, but OH MY GOD. WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! THAT ENDING?! I am stunned and emotionally wrecked. This book was so good and so well written. I really cannot say enough good things about it. This series has climbed it's way to the top of my list of favorite books, and it has secured it's spot with this one. Wow. I really don't know how to comment thoroughly on this book without spoilers because we're 4 books in at this point, but if you have not read this series yet, you need to. Not only do we get our fix of gods and monsters, fantasy and romance, but the raw emotion that is written into this series is unmatched. The pain and torment, and the angst of love so strong for your loved ones that words are just simply not enough to describe it... Amber does an exceptional job putting words to and describing things that we all can relate to and can feel on a cellular level. Sami and Dianna and their found families have burrowed their way into my heart, and I'm not sure I'll ever be the same. I'm not sure how I'm going to survive this next book, but I cannot wait for it to come out. ["

Gwendolyn BrophyBe prepared. This cliffhanger is next level. But you MUST read this series!
"Six out of five stars. Absolutely incredible. I felt like Dawn had maybe too many POVs, although I still loved it, but Wrath had a PERFECT balance of POVs. The plot moved along at a fast clip, and things that might have been predictable in a lesser author's hands (ie, a certain dagger makes its reappearance) are dealt with a refreshing and surprising way. And the characters. Gads, the character development that occurs is breathtaking, and you will find yourself caring about the fates of characters you never would have thought possible. But so many secrets are unveiled, upending the foundations for multiple characters, and by the gods, my book boyfriend Samkiel has been done WRONG his ENTIRE existence. Literally from the day he was born. And the tragedy that his is life does not improve here. Be warned, this cliffhanger is PAIN. Of all four books in this series, this is easily the most devastating ending and that includes Throne's ending. I will say no more except that this series is astounding and wonderful and I want more and more and more. Amber V Nicole has created such a unique world. I can't wait for book five!! ["

Amazon CustomerNot what you expected from and ending
"From the beginning starting with the Prologue to the first chapter opening up with Samkiel conversing with his father in the time before his death, you are asking yourself where is this story going considering the cliffhanger from book 3 and by the time you reach chapter 13 you already have a feeling there is no way the author will be able to wrap up Dianna and Samkiel epic story. Multiple character points of view with there own love interest and other characters that are interesting but go absolutely nowhere it becomes seemingly obvious we can expect to be disappointed in the storyline and how it will end. With all that said knowing there is a Television series coming I feel Amber Nichole lost control of the story and probably due to corporate pressure was encouraged to introduce ideas and other character that could be introduced into the television series. This is a huge mistake. Many readers who supported the book because overall its epic will never watch the television series that is soon to land to replace and compete with shows the likes of True Blood and the Legacies series that get binged watched on Netflix. Very disappointing that Amber Lost control then to let the story stand on its own and used as giving closure to an epic fantasy love story of two amazingly strong broken characters. “THE END” ‘right well this sucks’ you will agree when you reach the end.
