Viktor Seraphim is a man forged by his blade and defined by anonymity, a lone warrior carving a path through a realm teetering on the edge of collapse. As dragons descend from scorched skies to dismantle crumbling empires, Viktor’s search for his own history leads him toward a truth capable of unraveling the foundations of the world. His path converges with Amerei Zrynon, a princess living in the shadows of a stolen throne.
Amerei carries the weight of a kingdom built on dangerous secrets, and her survival depends on remaining unseen. When their lives intersect, the consequences are immediate and volatile. Their connection is as forbidden as it is inevitable, setting them on a collision course with ancient prophecies and those who would see both the throne and the realm destroyed.
As the fires of war consume the horizon, Viktor and Amerei must navigate a treacherous landscape where every choice threatens to ignite a larger conflict. Caught between the duty they owe their people and the undeniable pull drawing them together, they find that their bond is the greatest threat to the status quo. In a world where loyalty is a liability, they must decide if their love is worth the ruin of everything they once swore to protect.

"I'd been following the teasers and upcoming glimpses into this book for quite some time before I finally got to read it - I'm in Australia, don't have Kindle, prefer paperback anyway, to be honest - and I admit I was a little nervous I was hoping for too much. The previews and peeks the author provided were so lovely and interesting, I had the fear that maybe it couldn't live up to it, like a movie with a great trailer and premise, but then...no plot, or bad execution, or all the best bits had already been revealed. I could not have been LESS disappointed. I adored this book from beginning to end. The writing is precise, original, incredibly well paced. The author wields simplicity so cleverly, and this allows for some more florid, truly beautiful turns of phrase that I literally gasped over, laughed over, pined over. She has a fabulous feel for both metaphor and simile, too - original, tangible, not strained or overwrought. And the characters are so well portrayed. I felt them all. I LOVED Viktor, and Amerei also. Was cheering for them from the get-go. The emotions are VIVID. Ugh, adored it. Melted, burned, made several out-loud reaction noises while reading. But friendship is also portrayed wonderfully, and a nod to Gabriel and Evander as well for this. The battle scenes were incredibly powerful. I'm not much of one for battle scenes, to be honest, and often skim-read them. Not this time. The pace was just right - flashes, images, sensation, experience. I saw it, felt it from afar. The intimate scenes? DELICIOUS. Neither crass nor cheesy. Just...heat and romance and MORE HEAT and MORE ROMANCE and hot damn I loved every moment. SO, SO glad I took the chance on this book, and I'll be keenly awaiting its follow-up. ["

"Kiersten D. Trotter opens 'The Endowment' with a declaration, and every single page that follows earns it. This is not a story that flatters love into something soft and uncomplicated, it forges it, tests it, and demands that both its characters and its readers reckon with what consuming devotion actually costs. Viktor Seraphim and Amerei Zrynon are at the heart of an epic tale that spans four lands and builds toward a destiny neither of them could have anticipated, and I will say only this: there were moments in this book that stopped me cold, the kind of wait, what? revelations that you simply cannot see coming. Trotter's writing style is refreshingly distinctive, adding emotional depth to what is already a relentless rollercoaster of sacrifice, rescue missions, and steadfast loyalty. What moved me most unexpectedly, however, was Viktor and Gabriel's friendship. Trotter portrays connection with a rare and quiet brilliance, reminding the reader that love is not only romantic, and that some bonds are their own kind of epic. Found family, consuming romance, and a heroine stepping into her extraordinary destiny: The Endowment delivers all of it without apology. Love is not a weakness here. It is the whole point. Grab this book immediately! ["

Amy WellerI highly recommend this book!
"This book is phenomenal! After seeing ads for it, I thought I would give it a try and I was not disappointed! It’s the first book I’ve read by Kiersten and it definitely won’t be the last! The tale of Viktor and Amerei draws you in from the beginning and refuses to let go! The two fight impossible odds to not only be together but end the tyranny of a corrupt ruler. When war comes, Viktor vows to return to the woman he loves and while there are times we are left to wonder, he will make it home again. The two remain strong in their love even when tested and their reunion is a wonderful sight to see! Truths of his past will come to light and I can’t wait to read what comes next! ["

happy crabA different kind of fantasy
"This story isn't like the rest of the fantasy series out there. Yes, there are dragons but in a very limited capacity. Our hero is of a different ilk. Strong, yes. Brave, of course. Sexy as sin, wouldn't have a hero any other way would we? The story is about how strong love can bind a couple together even when forces try to rip them apart. Faith in that love and the endurance to withstand all the barriers set against them is what will drive you to keep reading! If this unbelievable story ever makes it to audio, trust me, I'm going to be front and center to order! My thanks and gratitude to the awesome author Kiersten D. Trotter for sharing her vision and talent with the rest of us mere mortals ["
