"FINELY a book I couldn't put down! I love to read and have read many books over the years. I have found it hard lately to find something that feels fresh and got me so emotionally engaged. The pacing was perfect, the main characters were believable and fleshed out, and the story was imaginative and fresh. This story was unique and I didn't feel like it was reading a variation of another book I had already read. I have found myself a few author to follow! What a wonderful first book! The book does end on a cliffhanger. I usually cannot stand cliffhangers, but she does it in a way that didn't make me hate her for it. LOL. Seriously, read it. It's up there with one of my all time favorites now. ["

"I really like the premise of the story and would read the next book, however, reading this book was very choppy. Many unexplained time jumps. Fast pacing. Moving onto the next scene without much explanations. I had to reread certain paragraphs two-three times to understand. Also, some grammar issues that is confusing, or awkward word choices. “My hand slide in his” (‘into’ would be better word choice for the context) “he swore fluently” (I’m not sure I understand what the author meant, maybe “he swore violently/aggressively”), “sweeping me under my feet” (‘off’ my feet) Usually such things won’t bother me, however if you read a lot, like me, finding three or four of these kinds of things in a chapter starts to affect the reading experience. These are just a few (last two on the same page) but this occurred numerous times in the book. Not sure if it’s an editing issue. Also - sometimes characters just randomly appear in the middle of the chapter. (No mention of the character being in the area, and then suddenly the character speaks or appears) Which can be a bit confusing. However, I really loved the story, the world building and Uther is hilarious! I look forward to book 2 !! ["
