About this book

Rosamund Bailey believes she has successfully escaped her past, trading a broken engagement for the rigid decorum of London society. However, when her former fiancé resurfaces with a threat capable of dismantling her entire life, Rosamund is forced into a desperate gamble. She sets her sights on a legendary treasure hidden deep beneath the ocean, a prize that requires the help of a man she swore never to see again: a notorious pirate captain with whom she shares a secret, scandalous history.

Thrown together on the high seas, the pair must navigate more than just the volatile waters of their own unresolved tension. As they hunt for the lost fortune, they realize the hoard is protected by ancient, bloodthirsty entities—wraiths, kelpies, and a sea dragon that guards its territory with lethal precision. Within the claustrophobic confines of the ship, the forced proximity ignites a slow-burn romance as dangerous as the monsters lurking in the abyss.

Rosamund soon faces an impossible dilemma: whether to trust the man who once shattered her defenses, or succumb to the encroaching darkness of the sea. In a race against time and tide, she must decide if the pirate by her side is her greatest ally or her ultimate undoing.

Such a fun read and great adventure!

"4,75 stars. This was so so good! Such a fun and enjoyable read and I really loved the concept of Bridgerton meets Pirates of the Caribbean - it's a spot on description and it was the perfect mix. It was funny and clever (that fist line killed me), and I liked the writing and pacing so much. And I think it worked really well having a main character who was flawed and had a lot of growing to do because it made her journey (both literal and figurative) so interesting, and the character development was such a great part of the story. I would have liked to see Rose and Oscar communicating a little better - they really needed to have an actual conversation that didn't just end in yelling and then an awkward apology that never actually resolved anything. Rose needed to talk to him about him leaving and how that made her feel, and I was a little disappointed we never got to see that. But that was honestly the only thing that really bothered me. Other than that, it was just a really good time. ✨ His eyes roamed over me, drinking me in like he wanted to memorize every little detail. No one had ever looked at me like that; it was exactly the problem with him. He was full of the things no one had ever done to me. ✨ ✨ He cupped my face and his lips crashed against mine, hungry. I answered his call because I couldn’t think of anything I would rather do with my last breaths than give them to him. ✨ ["

3.5!! This was a fun time

"I flew through this book a bit slow in the beginning but I need book two! These characters are everything they definitely carry this story in my opinion! The story line got a little wobbly there in the middle that’ll have you going huh? But just keep going! Like some details in this plot I didn’t love and would’ve rather the author gone in a different direction but I’m assuming it’ll tie in with the next books so tbd on that…..definitely some unanswered questions I need answered and that ending 😭 grab your tissues!!!!! But I can’t wait for the next book definitely recommend! SPOILER: what bothered me- The sea goddesses and her loving him but like what was that and what’s the history and then the ex lover that looked like her being with the witches and that whole thing was weird and super confusing. I wanted more monsters monsters with some more action to help hint at her relationship with the sea monsters like wtf is with the serpent!?! What was the point of that haha he didn’t do anything but I’m thinking it’ll tie in with the future books who knows! ["

Mysterious Fathoms Below

"I’m currently crying over this book. I have been crying off and on for at least half of it. I loved it so much that there simply aren’t words to fully convey it all. I felt everything. Love, sadness, connection, that inexplicable pinch in my belly, fear, happiness, sadness, and joy. The FMC lives in a world where no one truly understands her, and she chafes at the role she’s told she has to play. Engaged to a man who cheats on her, she breaks off their relationship and blames herself for his wandering attention. In order to get over her heartbreak, she has a life changing tryst with a pirate who is literally everything. The MMC understands that he cannot call her his own, he is a pirate and she a lady who deserves more… but he cannot forget her either. In one of the most beautifully devastating conversations I’ve ever read, she admits to him that other people think she’s “too much” and she’s afraid they’re right. He tells her that when it comes to her, he only wants “more”. More. To be loved like that. It’s what we all deserve. The way that I feel as a woman in this world is so beautifully and painfully understood and captured in this book. I love the main characters and will never forget them, and I need another book! The side characters are everything. The main characters are everything. I’m still crying. Honestly infinity stars. No 5 star system can capture my feelings. Read this. ["

MASTERPIECE

"A pirate masterpiece that I will be recommending to everyone. It has the creatures, the danger, the tension and everything I need in a pirate book. The romance between these two is EVERYTHING. I mean this man tells her he would find her in every life. The afterlife is no different???? SWOOOOONING. This book had me screaming and sobbing, and I am so seated for book 2!!!! ["
