Tempests & Tea Leaves (The Charmed Leaf Legacy Book 1)
Rachel Morgan
by Heather Schneider
Spring arrives at Evergreen Academy, but the season brings more than just equinox festivals and garden parties. As the Magical Botanical Board of Regents tightens its iron grip on the secret college, the institution faces an existential threat. For the members of the clandestine Root and Vine Society, the only hope lies in locating a long-lost botanical manuscript—a text that holds the secrets to the academy’s survival and the true history of their craft.
The search pulls the students far beyond the classroom, forcing them to confront ancient mysteries and test the limits of their unique, nature-based magic. Amidst the high-stakes quest, the tension between student and former tutor Callan Rhodes finally gives way. After months of suppressing their connection to navigate academic pressures and societal expectations, they find themselves working as partners in both secrecy and romance.
As the battle for the academy’s future looms, the pair must rely on their blossoming bond and the strength of their found family to unearth truths that have been buried for generations. With the fate of the magical and human worlds hanging in the balance, they discover that the deepest roots are the ones that hold them together when everything else begins to wither.

Michelle McElrathThe culminating book of a series
"I love how the book continues the adventures of Callan and Briar in trying to their school. It was a great book culminating all of the different groups in the book- by having her visit most of the different conservatories looking for an item to help her. It also brings back some of the characters you see in the first book. The only thing I wished the author did different was expand up on the end. I as the reader was expecting something else which would take the ending to a different direction, than what she wrote; however it still ended great. Lastly, Briar is a character who has now actions and abilities and is learning how to use them- all while Callan is realizing how much powers Briar has and that they can work together. ["

Reader 287Wonderful series conclusion!!!
"“You caught more than my eye. And you have every day since.” “Callan leaned in again to whisper into my ear. ‘Normal? What have I told you, local? You weren’t born for normal.’” I devoured this book and had it finished in less than 36 hours! I came into this story already loving Evergreen Academy – the world, the characters, the plant magic and science, the cozy fantasy, the sweet, longing-filled romance, all of it – and I was not disappointed in how the series wrapped up! Like the previous books in this series, Evergreen Legacy is told only from Briar’s point of view. The story is well-written, flows nicely, and paced in a way that kept my attention. The descriptive world building is SO good, the plant science is fascinating, and secrets are revealed/puzzles are solved in layers. There isn’t a lot of “down time” in between big plot points. The cast of characters is wonderful – unique, fun, so supportive of each other, and I like how Briar, Callan, and their friends work so well together. And Callan and Briar are slow-burn perfection! Their relationship is so sweet and full of green flags, and they complement each other so well. Their leaf messages and treehouse meetings are some of my favorite moments. This is a perfect example of how an author can create a beautiful, sweet, tension-filled romance without any overly descriptive kissing/physical scenes or lusty thoughts. My one critique – at times, things felt too easy, and I think I was expecting more of a fight. This is a “pen is mightier” kind of conflict, and I’m good with that! I love this story and series, and I’m a little sad that it’s over. I absolutely recommend this book and the whole series, and I’m already looking forward to rereading it! Content: no-spice/kisses-only romance (not super descriptive); clean language (some in-world, magical botanist cursing); magic that is a born-with gift; no violence; a few depictions of drinking magical botanist drinks (maybe underage?); loss of parent prior to story; strained parental relationships I received an advanced digital copy of this book from the author and was under no obligation to post a review. I also bought a paperback because I like it that much! ["

Sarah RobinsonCozy plant magic!
"Ugh I've been putting off this review. Writing it feels like I have to say goodbye to this world and I don't want to 😭 What a beautiful ending to an amazing series. I loved being back at Evergreen Academy and getting to explore more of the magical botanist's world! We get to hang out with Briar and her friends along with the secret society. We even get to see how Briar and Callan's relationship develops 🥰 you won't be disappointed. There's more magic, more secrets, more things to uncover, but all gets tied up very nicely by the end of this book. Easily a 5 star book and series overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ["
