"Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ This one hurts because of the potential? A missing body at a funeral home with zero explanation?? I was locked in. Maven going back to Solstice after her grandma’s death had such a strong setup, and her aunts? Honestly some of my favorite parts of the book. They had personality, they had presence… they carried. Ronan…. Our love interest. I wanted to love him, I really did. The history with Maven, the tension, the whole dark mysterious broody thing he had going on…. it should’ve been everything. And to be fair the banter between Maven and Ronan? Top tier. They were funny, chaotic, and easily the most entertaining part of the book. And listen… the spice? It was spicing. No complaints there. Unexpected? Yes. Memorable? Also yes. Let’s just say… that was a new experience for me 😂 BUT. The pacing is where things started slipping. It felt like I was reading one story… and then suddenly a completely different one took over around the last chunk of the book. And that ending… yeah. That’s what did it for me. Or what didn’t do it for me…. No spoilers, but it completely pulled me out of the story. It felt rushed, overdone, and honestly left me more confused than satisfied. I just sat there like… wait, that’s it?? The writing itself is solid, and there are definitely elements I enjoyed, but the way everything came together just didn’t work for me. This one had all the pieces… it just didn’t land the way I needed it to. ["

Ronan is in his families business Croft Pharmaceuticals. After 12 years they come face to face again. Let the twists and turns begin. There are graves that no longer house the bodies buried there, foxes that set on park bench’s and appear to be watching you. Ravens that continually attack Ronan’s father when he ventures outside. Also an owl that seems alive even though it passed years earlier. Relatives that make you question your sanity. Generations of females that never marry who each give birth to one child who is always a daughter. The same female generation also die in mysterious accidents or questionable circumstances. Last but not least a house that you hear voices in when there is no one besides you there. Geissinger is a dark, gothic romance that blends enemies-to-lovers tension with mystery, paranormal elements, and small-town secrets. Maven Blackthorn returns to her hometown of Solstice, Vermont for her grandmother’s funeral—only to find her grandmother’s body missing and face her first love, Ronan Croft, amid family feuds and long-buried secrets. The chemistry between Maven and Ronan is intense, the atmosphere haunting, and the story addictive. This story definitely ventures into darker territory than my usual reads. The author includes a clear content warning, and I recommend checking it before diving in. Some scenes blur the line between consent and non-consent, which may not be for everyone. It also leans into monster/shifter romance themes, including intimate scenes where the male lead isn’t fully human. It fits the story’s mythology but may push boundaries for some readers. "I am left without words! I ordered this book as pre-order and got it the day it was released. I began reading that same day and I can honestly say I'm blown away. The entire time I was reading I had absolutely no idea of what was truly happening to the MFC, and let me tell you, my guesses were all wrong! I don't want to spoil anything so all I'll say is this, if you enjoy m dark gothic romances then this book is a must. It's superbly written. The banter and interactions between the main characters draws you in. You feel the connection between them. You'll begin reading thinking you know what's going to happen and then you'll be left bewildered because all your thoughts were wrong. The ending, however, felt a bit rushed to me and left me thoroughly confused, so now I'm double guessing if what I thought happened, actually happened. Not sure if there will be a sequel as the ending didn't exactly stop at a cliffhanger, but if the author decided to make a second follow up I wouldn't be at all disappointed. So, regardless of how the book ended, the overall book is phenomenal. Grab this book because you're in for a ride. I literally couldn't put it down. ["
